Howl Happily this Halloween without getting Fat !!

Happy Halloween ! :-D

Happy Halloween ! 😀

Hey folks,

Thought would share some ideas on enjoying this Halloween season without that 3 letter word ..F*A*T sneaking in on you.

So……Here’s a weird, but Fool-Proof 4-Step Halloween Trick you can use to prevent yourself from packing on pounds and actually burn belly-flab during Halloween (or any holiday for that matter)

First, take a moment to identify any events you have in the upcoming week that may challenge you to stick to your fat-loss plan. For example, a Halloween party that will tempt you with lots of fattening, sugar-packed treats.

On the day of the party, follow this Simple 4-Step Plan that will allow you to enjoy yourself and stay in a “fat-burning zone“:

Step 1. Create 24Hour Thermo FatBurn

a.)  Sneak in an extra 15 – 20 minute workout.
b.)  Be more active. For example, play soccer or tag with your kids instead of reading the morning paper or watching TV.

Step 2. Pre-Halloween Party Calorie Control

a.)  Eat smaller portions at each meal prior to the party.
b.)  Adjust the kind of foods you eat. You’ll want to focus on lower-calorie foods, such as vegetables with lean protein.

Step 3. Get More BANG for your Caloric BUDGET (Have FUN!)

Because you arrived to the party having already burned more calories than normal (step 1 above), and consumed less calories than normal (step 2), you’ll have created a “caloric budget” that will allow you relax and enjoy some fun foods and drinks without sabotaging your success. That is, even though you’ll consume more calories in the evening than normal (i.e. a couple beers and a piece of cake at the party), you’ll still be in a caloric deficit – or at least “neutral” – at the end of the day.

Keep in mind, however, this will only hold true IF you make wise choices and keep portions under control. So, enjoy yourself at the party, but be prepared and choose wisely. For example, here’s a great tip for making Halloween cake (or muffins) lower in fat, sugar, and calories, and higher in protein, fiber, and other healthy, fat-burning nutrients…

Halloween Pumpkin Cake Trick

Instead of adding oil, butter, eggs, and milk/water to your cake or muffin mix, use the following:

           – One 16-ounce can of pumpkin (puree, not pie mix)
           – One cup of your favorite protein powder

This simple substitution will save you more than 70 calories and 10 grams of fat, and adds 11 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber, per serving! And it’s so delicious, you won’t feel deprived and your friends won’t even know it’s healthy!

In addition to being festive, check out all of these awesome health benefits of pumpkin:

*    Only 26 calories per serving and no saturated fats or cholesterol!
*    Jam-packed with cancer-fighting anti-oxidant vitamins, such as vitamin-A
     (246% of RDA), vitamin-C, and vitamin-E!
*    An excellent source of many natural poly-phenolic flavonoid compounds,
such as ÃŸ carotenes, cryptoxanthin, lutein, and zea-xanthin!
*    Full of B-complex vitamins like folates, niacin, vitamin B-6, thiamin, and
     pantothenic acid!
*    A rich source of important minerals, including: copper, calcium, potassium
     and phosphorus!
*    A good source of dietary fiber and mono-unsaturated fatty acids, which are
     good for heart health!

And now the top 3 benefits of the added protein…

1. Including protein with carbs helps you stay full longer and keeps blood sugar levels consistent, so your metabolism works more efficiently and you feel energized longer.

2. Protein has a“thermogenic effect,” which means your body uses energy from your fat cells to digest food. Proteins can take up to 30% of their calories to fully digest!

3. Proteins function as building blocks for lean, fat-burning muscle, as well as bones, cartilage, skin, blood, enzymes, hormones, vitamins, and minerals.

Step 4. Get right back on track

Once the party is over, get right back on track. Don’t wait until Monday to “start over.” The next day you can follow step 1 and 2 again and make up for all the fun you had; don’t slip back into old habits.

Follow these 4 simple steps on days that you are challenged with a special event, such as a Halloween party, and you’ll have a great time, and at the same time, can melt unwanted fat away!

Here’s to enjoying a Boundrylessly Happy Halloween !!

Put the Fun into Enjoying Life ~

Live for the Journey and not just the Destination ~

Live for the Journey and not just the Destination ~

Hi folks,

Been traveling and working. Hope all of you are enjoying the wonderful fall season.

Here’s what my friends and I recently discussed over some tea…

Just about everything I do is just for fun. I told my best friends as we sipped tea after enjoying some Ashtanga yoga.

While some people like to focus on being disciplined and achieving goals and sticking to their plans, I find this to be meaningless. What’s the point? You’ll be more successful if you Enjoy the process, the journey, not just the goal. Then if you don’t quite attain the goal first time you’re less likely to feel like a failure for not being disciplined or sticking to a plan or goal.

In contrast, if you do the exact same thing, but let go of the expectation you’ve set for yourself and just have fun doing it, it’s a complete success.

Let’s repeat that for emphasis: if you do the exact same thing, it’s a failure if you have expectations, but a complete and absolute success if you let go of the expectations and do it for fun.

Let’s take a few examples:

  • If you set out on a really tough 3-day hike through some mountains, and make it through the first day and night but get too tired in the middle of the second day, is that a failure? It is if you are mad at yourself for not getting to the end, for not being disciplined. It’s a success, though, if you decided at the beginning to do it “just for fun” and had a great time while you were doing it.
  • If you start writing a book but only get about halfway through, is that a success or failure? It’s a failure if you expected to get finished and are disappointed in yourself for not sticking it through to the goal. It’s a success if you decided to do it for fun and had a wonderful time writing.
  • If you start an online venture and it doesn’t take off and you have to call it quits after a year — is that a failure? Well, by now you know the answer. Have fun doing it, and it’s always a success.

If you go for a walk, a run, a hike, do it for fun, not for the benefits you might get. Do experiments in your life for fun, not for the results. Wake up each day and do something for fun, not to accomplish something. Every waking moment should be just for fun.

It shifts everything. It doesn’t only determine whether something’s a success or failure — it changes your attitude while you do anything, while you’re talking with someone or reading or watching something. Your mood lifts, you are kinder to others, you have a smile on your face.

Do handstands. Dance. Bound up a hill. Ride a bike feeling the sun warming your face as the breeze carries the sights and smells around you. Sing with your child. Write something with a light and lifted heart. Be love, and compassion, and joy. Live life just for fun !

Remember folks, it is more than reaching the goal….It’s have fun on the journey getting there !!  😉

Here’s to living a Fun Boundryless Lifestyle ~
